I’ve had such a great response about my blog yesterday on my friend Talia’s death from a car accident this past Saturday. Thanks to all of you guys for your support it’s nice to know all about you guys stories. She’s not the first friend that I have lost in my 19 yrs of life, when I was 13 I lost my best friend Shawna Bradley in a drunk driving accident. Me and her where both in the car with her mom and her 9 yr old cousin britney and we were only about 3 blocks from her house when a guy ran right into the passanger side of the car. Shawna never made it to the hospital, she died in the ambulance on the way there. I felt horrible because I walked aways with a broken arm and a messed up knee caused from being struck so hard. Her mom walked away with a couple of bruised ribs. Britney was in the seat right next to me and she died on impact. They didn’t know that they guy was druck until a couple days later. What ended up happening to him is when he saw the article in the newpaper a couple of days later and he found out he killed a 9 yr old and a 12 yr old he decided it wasn’t worth it to spend the next 10 yrs or so in prision feeling guilty about it and he drove his car 110 miles an hour in a tree and died on impact. I can tell you that even thought it has been 7 yrs everyone in the small Texas town of Kilgore still misses Shawna and Britney. I just thought I would share this with you to let you know this isn’t the first time this kind of sadness has happened to me in my 19 yrs of life. Because of this I have been an active member of SADD (Students against Drunk Driving) since I was in the 7th grade. I feel that by being apart of them I can help prevent this from happening to other people. I made a pact to myself that yr that I would never drink and drive no matter what the reasons because I know what the consquences of it are.
Great Response…
